I am back in Whistler, and there is no snow, only rain. For me, that means the running shoes are on and the trainer is being set up in front of the TV. It would be nice to have some fresh powder to play in, but I can entertain myself just fine. In two weeks time I will be back in Mexico for a friends wedding and some warm road miles.
My time in NC was full of family and friends. Meadow threw Richie and I an engagement party at her beautiful new home. How many parties have there been now? I even had a few mountain bike rides with the family and friends. It had been a while since I had hit the trails so it was especially fun. I could not believe how bad my hands started hurting from all the holding on. . .
My competitive family mentioned that I was “riding pretty good” for having been off the bike for so long. That is as good as I could hope for! My cousin Shiloh is running a 50 mile trail race in San Francisco today. I hope he kicks some butt because then he and his wife Josie will have some extra money to spend. I am encouraging them to travel to an exotic location for some winter training. The more friends the better!
December 12 is my birthday, so more fun times are ahead. No matter where I am there are always wonderful people to catch up with and celebrate life. Get outside, no matter what it looks like!
