Ashland Super D

Well, that was really really really fun.  I don’t remember the last time I was smiling so much during a race.  SRAM had the set-up dialed and all I had to do was hang with the boys and do shuttle runs.  No complaints here!  The course was a super fast 12 mile descent with 600 feet of climbing scattered throughout.  Over 5,000 ft. of descending later, I grabbed the win with a time of 39:57.  My brother Sam took 3rd in 35:18 and then we all dropped into the Organic Nation Vodka mixed with Brain TonIQ (my new kick of the week).

I got the crew hooked on Kombucha and laughing (mania actually. .. )  and now I miss them all like you miss the friends you meet at summer camp.  Luckily I will see them all again in Downeyville.  Now it is time to train, and detox before I retox.

I will add some photos once my web guy gets back from Hawaii.  I seem to be out of room and I am not smart enough to figure out why.  I think I need to get on that Brain TonIQ sponsorship. . ..thanks for checking in!

  1. Willow!
The Super D was fantastic, it was great you were there! Any chance the Organic Vodka you were all drinking was mine? Organic Nation Vodka, I gave J D a bottle. If it is, would you mind giving me a little plug so I can link it to my site?

Have so much fun in Downieville.. I am determined to get entered next year!
    Cheers!

and if the crew would like to sip Organically some more lets find out which races we will all be at and I can bring a couple more bottles.

  3. Thanks for coming to Ashland and giving our super D a lot more cred. And congratulations on the super time and win.

Were you the greensleeved lady with a crew of boys who yelled “Now thats what I like” heading up North Main right after you finished? I was pedalling in the rasta jersey across the street while you were turning left to go up the hill.

Take care and good luck on the second half of the WC season

  5. Willow,
    Congrats!
Thanks for the comments after the race. Really fit well with my story and photos for our local newspaper here in S.O.
Your easy to photograph, especially when your passing other riders (men) on that tight course.
If your ever in town again, let me know. There’s a ton of more fun trails out here that you never had a chance to see and there really exciting. It would be fun to photograph you not in race format, but more free riding. I could get Nathan Riddle to join us, we just did a local shoot.
Take care and good luck with the rest of the season.
